Jesse Markusse speelt aankomend seizoen voor het eredivisieteam van Basketball Community Gelderland. De 2.06 lange center speelde vorig seizoen voor Apollo Amsterdam.
De 28 jarige Jesse begon zijn jeugdopleiding bij BV Lely in Amsterdam. In het seizoen 2011-2012 speelde hij in de promotiedivisie bij BC Apollo, dat in dat jaar kampioen werd. Het daaropvolgende seizoen maakte hij zijn debuut in de DBL bij Apollo. Vervolgens verruilde hij Amsterdam voor Aris Leeuwarden, om in 2014 weer terug te keren naar de hoofdstad. Na ruim vijf seizoenen bij Apollo maakt Jesse nu de stap naar Gelderland.
Jesse: ‘Ik zie Basketball Community Gelderland als een nieuw avontuur met veel potentie. Een bestuur en coaching staff met veel ambitie en een team met veel mogelijkheden. Ik denk dat ik een bijdrage kan leveren met de ervaring die ik de afgelopen jaren heb opgedaan in de league. Daarmee kan ik de jongens binnen en buiten het veld helpen.’’
Coach Matthew Otten: ‘’We zijn blij dat we Jesse aan onze selectie toe kunnen voegen. Lengte die we goed kunnen gebruiken, maar ook de ervaring van Jesse komt goed van pas. Daarnaast heeft hij de werklust en persoonlijkheid die bij ons team past. De selectie is nu bijna rond.’’

Jesse Markusse is joining the new DBL team in Gelderland
Jesse Markusse will play for the DBL team of Basketball Community Gelderland next season. The 2.06 cm center played for Apollo Amsterdam last season.
The 28 year old Jesse started his youth training at BV Lely in Amsterdam. In the 2011-2012 season, he played in the promotion division at BC Apollo, which became champion that year. The following season he made his debut in the DBL at Apollo. He then exchanged Amsterdam for Aris Leeuwarden, to return to the capital in 2014. After five seasons at Apollo, Jesse is now moving to Gelderland.
Jesse: “I see Basketball Community Gelderland as a new adventure with a lot of potential. A board and coaching staff with ambition and a team with a lot of potential. I think I can contribute with the experience I have gained in the league over the years. With that I can help the guys on and off the court.”
Coach Matthew Otten: “We are happy to add Jesse to our roster. Length that we can use well, but Jesse’s experience also comes in handy. In addition, he has the work ethic and personality that we are looking for. The roster is almost complete now.’’
