Keime Helfrich speelt aankomend seizoen voor het eredivisieteam van Basketball Community Gelderland. De 1.98 lange shooting guard speelde vorig seizoen voor de Dreamfields Dolphins, uitkomend in de promotiedivisie.
De 22 jarige Keime Helfrich, met Gelderlandse roots, is begonnen met basketball bij Pigeons in Duiven. Een groot gedeelte van zijn jeugdopleiding bracht hij door bij Landstede Zwolle. In 2018 maakt hij de stap naar Bemmel, waar hij uitkomt voor de Dreamfields Dolphins. De afgelopen twee jaar is hij een van de sterspelers van de promotiedivisie, met vorig seizoen een gemiddelde van 20 punten, 5 rebounds en 3 assists per wedstrijd.
Keime: ‘’Ik ben klaar om te laten zien wat voor een speler ik kan zijn in de eredivisie. Ik heb enorm veel zin om elke dag op het veld te staan met mijn nieuwe teamgenoten. Ons doel is Gelderland op de basketball kaart te zetten en wat mij betreft zo veel mogelijk wedstrijden te winnen. Winnen is alles voor mij, maar ik snap ook dat dit een jaar is om te groeien als team en organisatie. Ik ben bij de Dolphins veel enthousiaste fans en vrijwilligers gewend, ik kijk er naar uit om iedereen weer te zien en hoop op een heleboel extra basketball fans uit de regio!’’
Coach Matthew Otten: ‘’Keime is een van grootste talenten van Gelderland, ik hou hem al meer dan vijf jaar in de gaten. Afgelopen seizoen heb ik eindelijk met hem kunnen werken en ik ben blij dat hij de kans krijgt die hij verdient.’’

From Dolphin to DBL: Keime Helfrich steps up to the eredivisie
Keime Helfrich will play for the DBL team of Basketball Community Gelderland next season. The 1.98 tall shooting guard played for the Dreamfields Dolphins last season, playing in the promotion division.
The 22-year-old Keime Helfrich, with Gelderland roots, started playing basketball at Pigeons in Duiven. He spent a large part of his youth at Landstede Zwolle. In 2018 he moves to Bemmel, where he plays for the Dreamfields Dolphins. For the past two years, he has been one of the star players of the promotion division, averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game last season.
Keime: “I am ready to show what kind of player I can be in the first league. I am really looking forward to being on the court every day with my new teammates. Our goal is to put Gelderland on the basketball map and to win as many games as possible. Winning is everything to me, but I also understand that this is a year to grow as a team and organization. I am used to many enthusiastic fans and volunteers at the Dolphins, I look forward to seeing everyone again and I hope to see a lot of new basketball fans from the region!’’
